a collective THANK YOU to everyone who has fav'd any of my work or added me to their watch list over the last few months.

I've neglected this site this year because I've been so busy and now find myself with 40+ pages of feedback which would take me forever to wade through. Please know that your support is still very much appreciated.

For the first time in, I think, around 13 years I will be exhibiting at a specialist doll and teddy bear fair this Sunday 31st May. The Teddybearzaar fair is being held at Gateshead Civic Centre from 10:30 till 4. I've made loads of new bears for the show and am super excited to be taking part in a fair again after so many years. Tickets will be available at the door on the day as well as via the contacts mentioned below. You can see a preview of some of the exhibitors on the fair website www.teddybearzaar.weebly.com and on their facebook page www.facebook.com/groups/235711…

It's been a while (again). I haven't painted anything for so long. I've been more drawn to sewing and bear making so I'm just sort of going with the flow for now. I've finishing up lots of bears - more than I've made in a long time because I'm exhibiting at a show at the end of May. This will be the first Bear and Doll show I've done for nearly 14 years. All the details are here -->  teddybearzaar.weebly.com/  so if you're in the area on Sunday 31st May please come along and say hello.

I've just uploaded my Avengers bears - something I've been working on for ages now and that's the subject of my latest blog www.the-wild-wood.com/

That's all for now. Thanks for reading and for all the favs and watches. I don't have as much time online these days so I'm struggling to keep up with my inbox but I really do appreciate them. xx

THINGS

Yet again, it's been such a long time since I wrote a new journal. I seem to have spent most of this year gathering around me all the tools and materials I need for a whole bunch of different projects and ideas. I've been working away at all kinds of stuff, directionless as usual, trying new things, trying old things, sewing bears, sewing THINGS, drawing stuff, painting stuff, messing about with polymer clay. I like to hope that one day, as I flit from one thing to another and the mess in my work room reaches critical mass, I will miraculously find myself at the point where many, many projects will all magically find themselves completed simultaneously. But I suspect, if that would actually happen, my head would probably implode.

Anyhoo, the main reason for writing this particular journal is because I actually have some finished THINGS to show you. They are just called THINGS, they are little plushies with big feet and I've made about 20 of them so far. So before I got nuts, buying up all the fleece in the north east of England and making hundreds of the little blighters I thought it would be wise to post a few here and on fb to see what people's reaction to them is. If I get a Yay! I'll make some more. If I get a 'meh', I'll move on to other stuff on my infinte 'to do' list.

So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to the THINGS.

Little fleecy critters with safety eyes and felt or cotton embellishments, they're stuffed with polyfil and a few plastic pellets and are all unique, with their own numbered label on one foot. Just to make more work for myself I've also started a 'Book of THINGS' where I draw and record each thing I make.

I finally managed to catch up with all my dA messages - it's been months, sorry. I think I might've missed a couple of people who added me to their watch (butterfingers on the keyboard) for which I apologise and thank you for watching my gallery.

I've been in kind of a weird place since I gave up on the acrylics painting thing. Still hankering after doing something new but not really sure which  direction to take so I'm mainly experimenting at the moment, trying out new water color paints, gouache and I got some metal leaf but I've not thought of anyting to use it on so far. Then I started a bear making frenzy which I haven't quite got out of yet. And pencil drawings, lots of drawings that are waiting to be scanned before I mess them up with paint :D

That's about it, I think. Not much of a journal, I know, so to brighten things up here are a few recent favs from my inbox:
